I don't usually write poetry, and, depending on your reaction to this, you might probably be able to see why.
Is more a performance piece which never got performed. Written for a competition that'd have seen me read this out in front of a small but sizeable crowd, if only I had actually remembered to hand the piece in before the entry deadline.

Nostalgia

As I close my eyes and, I see, Powered Toast Man. Before me
And he's talking to a log, and a, a cloud of fart,
which we call son.

And I see a Cow, and a Chicken,
And they're brother and sister and their parents don't have faces,
and the Devil is trying to make the chicken smoke cigarettes because

And Batman is beating up Anakin Sky, walker
And Cousin Skeeter explains it all to Kenan and Kell,
And Clarissa, and Sabrina, are the same woman.

And there's a dog and a cat and they're a sausage with faces
like inverse Cow Chicken Hot Dog mother pappy man
And Oh Real Monsters.

Sugar spice and everything else and chemical X and a monkey
And Him (who was Tim Curry, only Red)
And that magician who haunted my dreams.

I took out, a 50p coin and rubbed, its nose
And it winked and stopped time and was a watch,
And rats crushed, a man dressed as a mannequin.

How Big Bang Art Attack
Teletubbies like a TV made out with a Panda and paint
And Pingu peed himself live on TV, Pingu peed live on Teletubbies

And Dot is cute, and Yakko yaks,
and Wakko packs away the snacks,
While Bill Clinton plays the sax

And then it occurs to me, that all I see
makes sense, made sense, and explains way, too much.
They say cartoons rot the mind but goddamn were they good.
