NatNoWriMo 2011 Empty NatNoWriMo 2011

It's quiet around here.

Too quiet.
So, in the spirit of making tappity noises on my keyboard and putting words on screens, I wondered if anyone else was going to sign up for National Novel Writing Month this November.

I know. It seems a long way off right now and there's that long glorious stretch of summer in the way (unless you're English, in which case it'll be all over by July 18th and will depart in a furious temper because of what you said about Michaelmas).

Nevertheless, now's a good time to think about signing up. Sign up now and you have the chance to think up a plot and some characters. Because come November, the challenge will be to write a novel in a month.

Fifty thousand words.

One thousand six hundred and sixty seven words a day. Every day. For 30 days.

Sounds like fun, huh?

I'd love to do this, but I simply couldn't.

Shame there isn't a scriptwriting month, now that I'd love to have a go at.

I've participated in NaNoWriMo for the last few years. I broke my laptop last year writing it ... Wrote 40,000 in a day, then finished on the 2nd. Either the words killed the laptop or the fact that I fell asleep with it and dropped it on the floor did something to it.

And Johnstone, I've said to you already but I'll say again if anyone else doesn't know that there is Script Frenzy if you're more interested in writing scripts. And NaPoWriMo, which is at some point in the year, but I wouldn't really know.

I'm unsure as to whether I'm going to do NaNoWriMo this year though, I want to focus on finishing my novel for October, so I'll probably be revising in November. It'll be the first time in three years I haven't done it. Then again, I'm quite indecisive.

There is one Very Happy pretty sure it was started by the same people that started NaNoWriMo too...

Script Frenzy... Every April: http://www.scriptfrenzy.org/

Gonna do NaNoWriMo properly this year, I only hit about 13,000 words as I was too preoccupied with writing a couple of scripts.
